The McCabe Fund, part of the Royal Engineers Association’s commitment to the Sapper family, is here to support your ideas and help bring aspirational projects to life! Whether you are part of a Sapper Community, an RE Unit, or an REA Branch, this grant is designed to provide the funding you need to make a difference.

Are you ready to launch an exciting project that will boost morale, foster stronger connections, or enhance the lived experience of your fellow Sappers? The McCabe Fund can help!

Who Can Apply?

Sapper Communities, RE Units, and REA Branches are all invited to apply.

If your project can enrich the lives of those in the Sapper family—whether it’s a community event, a facility upgrade, or a welfare initiative—this fund is for you!

Applying is simple! Here’s what you need to do:

1. Complete the Application Form available on our website – open for 2025 applications from 20th January 2025.

2. Provide a brief description of your project, including its goals and the positive impact it will have on your community.

3. Share a budget breakdown and detail any other sources of funding you’ve secured or applied for.

4. Obtain a statement of support from your Chain of Command.

Important Dates:

Submission Deadline: 30 November 2025

Grant Approvals: Payments will be made quarterly, starting in January 2025.
