RE F A Cup 150 Festival of Football

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Royal Engineers winning the FA Cup in 1875 (the only military team ever to do so) there will be a Festival of Football on the Great Lines from 12pm to 6pm on Sat 10 May 25. Open to the public and free to enter, the event will consist of:

  • A military open day with interactive displays, football-themed activities, food and drink vendors, the Red Devils Parachute Display Team and the Army Engagement Ensemble band.
  • A Soccer Aid style mixed age/gender match with guest players (ko. 2.30pm).
  • A rematch of the 1875 FA Cup final between the Royal Engineers and the Old Etonians (ko. 4pm).

All proceeds from the day will be shared between 3 charities, including the REA.

In the evening there will be an invitation-only fundraising dinner in the RE HQ Officers’ Mess.
